The NWFL Under 13 Youth Girls competition is to kick off on Friday the February 19th at Dial Park. The condensed season will take place over a seven week period - coinciding with the AFLW season and finishing up right before the the NWFL Juniors season begins at the beginning of April.
The competition will take place on Friday evenings and will be a chance for the coastal clubs to showcase the young up and coming female talent. The competition will be held on smaller fields across our 7 NWFL clubs with smaller specific rules that will culminate in 8 a side teams.
The altered rules are as follows:
· Games consist of two 12-minute halves with a two-minute break at half-time
· Played on a rectangular field with dimensions similar to that of a soccer field – potential to have 3 fields on oval – one in each 50 and one wing to wing. Dimensions of 75m x 45m.
· Eight players on the field per team, with up to six players on the bench and no limit to rotations.
· Last touch out-of-bounds rule introduced (team that had last touch loses possession)
· The field umpire will throw the ball up to begin play at the start of each half – otherwise opposing team will kick out from a goal or behind.
